Extract the contents of the mod to a temporary folder (I keep all my stuff in a folder called Minecraft Mods on my Desktop, makes it easier to do over if I mess up again). The majority of those instructions will look like this: minecraft.jar open, you can follow the instructions from the specific Mod that you are trying to install. jar file with the name “minecraft” in it, Don’t mod these. Open the minecraft.jar file with WinRAR or the program of your choice. The content inside the bin folder is what we need: minecraft folder will look similar to this Mac OS/X: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft In Windows Vista/XP: C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Application Data\.minecraft In Windows 7: C:\Users\ Your User Name\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft I am not responsible for any lost Maps or Items! Make SURE that you make a back up of your Minecraft Folder.
